How to reset Forgotten Password for Windows 8?

We come across several problems in our day to day life about our computer. A similar problem has been faced by one of our users. He tells that his sister owns a windows 8 laptop. Few days ago she lost her charger but when she got it back she forgot her password.  Since then they have tried different kind of software but none of them have worked and are really frustrated. She has too much of important data which she don’t want to lose. Since they are not good at computer terms, they have asked to explain this in simple terms.
Based on the description above I suggest them to use Windows Password Unlocker. This is a small program that can be used to recover password of any Windows Operating System in less than 5 Minutes. This tutorial explains you the full process by which you can easily reset your lost password by deleting the old one.

WPU can help you to:

  • Reset (not recover) passwords on any windows OS, including Windows 8, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 7.
  • Reset domain administrator and user’s password for Windows 2008(R2)/2003(R2)/2000servers that act as domain controllers (only available for Active Directory Servers)

Following are steps for password recovery

1.    Download and Install:  Download WPU from here in any other computer and install it there. It is highly recommended that you must download the professional version when it comes to Windows 8.
2.    Burn the Iso: Now you need to burn a bootable disk. For this just insert a CD/DVD drive or a USB drive (pen drive) and press on a button telling Burn USB or Burn CD/DVD to burn the iso that is embedded in the software (Windows Password Unlocker) for users benefit. It takes less than a minute to burn that ISO and now you can remove the device which you have used for burning.
3.    Reboot your Computer:  Now you need to insert the bootable CD/DVD or the USB drive into the locked windows 8 Computer and restart the Computer. Now when the reboot is running you may see a message telling to press some button to enter the setup. Don’t wait for anything and press the required button. You are taken to the boot Menu Window. Here you may find several options but what you need to consider is the CD/DVD or USB one according to your requirements.
4.    Reset the password:    Now as you have already selected CD/DVD according to your needs, WPU will launch your computer in Windows PE mode. Here you will be asked to select the account whose password need to be reset. You just need to select the User and press the reset button. WPU will automatically delete the password for that account and reset it to nothing. Now restart your computer. The reset will make the account open and can be logged in without any password. Now you can set password according to your wish.

Some other methods for password recovery:

Imagine you are working on a Linux PC and then you face this kind of situation. To overcome that there are many software available in the market but Best one is OphCrack. This software is so powerful that once you insert the password recovery disk into the computer you may not need to press even a single key and everything works automatically. There are more techniques like Ubuntu live CD in which you can simply download the live CD from here and burn it in a disk. Now you can load it in your target computer and then login to your windows environment and reset your password. This is a well know method for all Windows NT versions and is very popular among the programmers as here you don’t actually need to delete any password but you simply change it to your new One .
